Where God Takes Over

Harvey Kluvers, a wise Christian friend said something very profound to me recently: Sometimes it*s hard to know where we leave off and where God takes over. While we cannot know exactly where God takes over we can know that He will take over when we need Him to, when there is something that we cannot handle. He has made us able to handle some things and unable to handle others. He knows very precisely which are which. It is an amazing thing that the Living God, our Creator and the Creator of the universe can use us mortal men and wants to. He can and does live in us, work on us, work in us, work with us and work through us when we are filled with His Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 3:9: For we are labourers together with God: ye are God*s husbandry, ye are God*s building.

2 Corinthians 6:1: We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

Ephesians 2:20: And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Colossians 2:7: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

1 Peter 2:5: Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Matthew 16:18: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

We understand that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Lord Jesus, but neither shall the gates of hell prevail against His church. That is you and me if we are saved.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

When we receive Christ we become His workmanship, able to do the good works that He has ordained for us.

Titus 2:14: Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The world will think that we are very peculiar when we are zealous for the Lord.

Philippians 2:12-13: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Matthew 11:28-30: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

It is wonderful to know that Jesus is in His yoke with us. Teams of horses or oxen are usually paired up with another of approximately equal strength. It is a huge understatement to say that being yoked together with Jesus is being yoked with someone of greater strength. Sometimes, if we don*t do our little part, His greater part is hindered too.
